Quick Update about Day 4

This post is via phone report to Lynn.

Suzanne and I had a great day (62 miles in hilly terrain) and have reached Albion, Michigan. Hurray! Pete checked on us from time to time during the day and provided us with encouragement. We have more to report, but the computers at our motel are out due to severe storms and tornado warnings. We got rained on a little bit coming into town, but avoided the storm.

We will report with more detail later. Suzanne and Pete will return to Cincinnati tonight.

I wrote two days ago about Greenville and spending beaucous hours at the Maid Rite Sandwich Shop there starting at age 16. But my message didn't get posted. Dang. I know State Route 127 well, too. It's a route we take going to Cin. from Roni's mom's house north of Ft Wayne so that we can go through Greenville and have Maid Rite sandwiches! I also have their t-shirt which is getting awfully thin. Must put out this word to family re:Christmas gift shopping. Your blog is fun reading. BTW, tell me about your new boat when you have time. We had a pontooner when we lived on the lake in Orlando but sold it after a few months here. Dry storing is no fun and we live too far from good river touring. But I miss being on the water. Glad your ride is going well. Your account of close calls on 127 gave me cold chills since I'm familiar with that paved goat path. Mich will be a harder ride, I guess, but won't it also be more scenic?
Are you developing fat calves and piston-like quads?

Sounds like riding's going great. Good job again to Suzanne (and to Bob). It's really uniting to be able to stay in touch like this. It's gearing us all up for the island in less than 3 weeks. Can't wait. Suzanne leaves and you hook up with Chuck and a friend, right? Hope you've left the bad weather behind you. Continue with happy trails.
